Editing and regenerating reports

Reports are editable inline. When to tweak, when to regenerate, and what "locked" steps mean.

TL;DR. All Growth Brain reports are editable inline. Click into any section, edit the text, and it saves on blur. You can also regenerate sections selectively when your inputs change.

When to use this

When the auto-generated copy needs your voice, when a fact is wrong, or when you want to lock-in edits before regenerating other sections that might overwrite them.

How editing works

Reports render as structured documents — title, then sections, then paragraphs. Each paragraph is editable:

  1. Open the report you want to edit (Market Intelligence, Strategy, Playbook, Content Arsenal).
  2. Click into a paragraph. The cursor lands inside; the paragraph becomes a text editor.
  3. Edit. Format with markdown (**bold**, *italic*, [links](url)).
  4. Blur the field (click outside or Tab away). Changes save automatically. A small "Saved" indicator flashes briefly.

Regenerating selectively

A report has multiple sections. You can regenerate one without redoing the others:

  1. Hover the section heading. A "Regenerate" button appears in the right margin.
  2. Click it. The section's content is replaced by a fresh AI generation using the current Business Context + ICP.
  3. Your edits to other sections are preserved. Only the regenerated section is overwritten.

What "locked" means in Growth Strategy

The Growth Strategy has a Launch Blueprint step followed by a Growth Roadmap step. The Roadmap is locked until the Blueprint is accepted — because the Roadmap depends on the Blueprint's outputs (which segments to target, which channels to lead with).

To unlock:

  1. Open the Launch Blueprint section.
  2. Review it. Edit anything that doesn't match your understanding.
  3. Hit Accept Blueprint at the bottom.
  4. The Growth Roadmap unlocks. You can now generate it.

Common questions

Will my edits be overwritten on regeneration? Only within the section you regenerate. Edits to other sections survive. Edits within the regenerated section are replaced — you can't surgically preserve a sentence inside a section being regenerated.

Is there a revision history? Not yet. Edits commit to the current version of the report and previous states aren't kept. If you want to keep a snapshot, copy the rendered text into a doc before regenerating.

Can I add my own sections to a report? Not yet — the section structure is fixed per report type. You can use the "More context" field in Business Context to feed extra context into future regenerations.
