Master prompt and per-platform overrides
The shared system prompt every AI reply uses. How to override it per platform and what the three reply presets are.
TL;DR. The master prompt is the shared system prompt every Connect / Keep AI reply uses. Set it once on /connect; override per platform if a specific channel needs different tone. Plus three optional reply presets for one-click alternative styles.
When to use this
When AI replies feel off-brand, too generic, or the wrong tone for a specific channel. The master prompt is the single biggest lever for shaping output quality.
The three layers
The AI's instruction stack, from outer to inner:
- Business Context — fixed company-level prose. Read-only at draft time; edited via Settings → Profile.
- Master prompt — your custom system prompt. Tone, style, do's and don'ts. Applies to every reply on every platform.
- Per-platform overrides — optional override of the master prompt for one specific channel (e.g. "On WhatsApp, write shorter, more casual replies").
When generating, the AI sees both Business Context AND whichever of master / per-platform applies (per-platform wins if set).
Setting it up
- Open /connect from the sidebar (or /keep for social comments — same structure).
- Edit the Master prompt field. A useful template: "You're a thoughtful B2B seller. Match the prospect's energy and length. Lead with a specific observation about them, then a clean question. Avoid pitch words like 'leverage', 'synergy', 'solution'."
- Optionally tweak per-platform overrides. WhatsApp tends to want shorter / more casual; LinkedIn tolerates more substance.
- Save.
The three reply presets
In addition to the main AI draft, Connect can show up to three preset alternatives — one-click templated styles. Useful when you want fast A/B options without regenerating:
- Preset 1: e.g. "Casual / short — pick this when they sent a one-liner."
- Preset 2: e.g. "Curious — lead with a question about their business."
- Preset 3: e.g. "Direct — name the pain you solve, ask for 15 minutes."
Configure under /connect → Reply presets. Each preset is just a prompt; the AI fills the template using the conversation context.
Common questions
Should I write the master prompt in English even if I sell in another language? Match the language of your output. If you sell in Arabic and want replies in Arabic, write the master prompt in Arabic. The AI generates in whatever language the prompt is in.
Will changing the master prompt rewrite existing conversations? No — only new draft generations use the new prompt. Past drafts you've already sent are untouched.
Are presets per platform or global? Global. The same three presets show up on all four platforms. If a platform needs platform-specific presets, use a per-platform override instead of presets.
